Lynn Haven, FL--There's going to be an interesting change behind the wheel for the Phoenix Racing team owned by Lynn Haven's James Finch in the coming weeks.
Finch is going to put Bobby Labonte in the No. 51 Sprint Cup car for Michigan this weekend.
And then, how about a ride for former Formula 1 driver Jacques Villeneuve in Sonoma on the 23rd!
Phoenix was in the market for a new driver after losing A.J. Allmendinger to J-T-G Daugherty Racing for this week and up to four more weeks. In fact he's replacing Labonte with that team.
Labonte the 2000 Cup champion with 26 career victories, but hasn't won since 2003.
He has a 702 race streak going, and by putting him behind the wheel to continue that streak, Finch is returning a favor you might say.
Labonte raced for Phoenix in 14 races back in 2010 when Finch was trying to get a foot hold in Cup racing.
