Panama City, FL---The Gulf Coast softball team managed a doubleheader split Monday with Wallace of Dothan, but that keeps the Lady Commodores with a sub 500 record here in the early part of the softball season.
Gulf Coast actually playing it's home opener with the first game of the twinbill Monday, losing that game 4-0. The Lady Commodores came back in game two though by swinging some hot bats in the bottom of the first inning Megan Griffith, Anna Martin and Katie Gardner all with rbi hits in the first inning rally. .
Katie White, who wound up 4-4 in the game, would add a three run homer and Gulf Coast gets the split with a 10-2, run rule win in the second game.
Gulf Coast back on the field for another doubleheader Friday as they host Chattanooga State at 2 and 4 o'clock.

-Haley Elver gets the strikeout to end the top of the first with a runner at second.
- Bottom of the first the Lady Commdores push across some runs, a walk and a bunt single put two on, Megan Griffith singles to center, the ball bobbled out there so both Katie White and Kayla Fields score, 2-0 game.
-After a long single, Anna Martin comes up and loops one into shallow right, a throwing error out there allows Griffith to score.
-St. Joe product Katie Gardner follows with a sharp single up the middle and that pushes Brittany Wylie across. Gulf Coast adds another in the inning on a fielder's choice, led it ¤
¶5-0 early...they go on to win by run rule, 10-2, and get the doubleheader split.
