TALLAHASSEE, FL--Gulf Coast unable to get one win in two tries on the road in Tallahassee Monday. The Lady Eagles sweeping their doubleheader over Gulf Coast 7-6 and 6-0. That extending the Lady Eagles winning streak to nine games and at 13-1 keeping them well ahead of the pack in the Panhandle standings.

Monday's doubleheader was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 29, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Eagles batted around in the first inning of game one while plating 6 runs. That lead stood all the way until the top of the 7th, the Lady Eagles one out away from the win but Gulf Coast shortstop Megan Griffith tied the game and eventually sent it into extra innings with a dramatic three-run homer to center.

The game would end in the bottom of the ninth inning when Brenda Santana, who already homered back in the first, lined a ball back up the middle with the bases loaded, scoring the game winning run.

Tallahassee's bats did not cool down in game two.

A 5 run second inning gave Tallahassee a lead that would not be challenged, as Ashley Dobson went on to pitch a complete-game, two-hit shutout while striking out eight.

The Eagles will get some time to rest before their next set of games on Friday, April 4 when they travel to Marianna, Fla., to take on Chipola College in a doubleheader.

Gulf Coast is back in action Wednesday when they host Chipola in a twinbill at 4 and 6.
