Lady Marlins Defeat Tornadoes on the Pitch


Panama City Beach, FL --- The Lady Marlins of Arnold took their 7-3 mark on to the pitch against county rival Bay at Gavlak Stadium Thursday night.

The Tornadoes came into the match at 3-8. Arnold won their first meeting 4-0 last month, but a victory for the Tornadoes would even the score.

In the highlights attached above, the action picks it up with the Marlins already up 2-0 in the first half.

Bay looking to get back in it as Laura Valcourt attacking for the Tornadoes. Alexis Turner goes out to stop it, but the ball bounces off a couple of Lady Marlins and it's an own goal. Arnold's lead is cut in half.

Autumn Jaworrski was ready to rebuild the Lady Marlin lead. She puts the ball in the back of the net just before the end of the first half to extend the lead back to two.

Jaworski, who had scored one of the first two goals, gets another in the second half for the hat trick.

Marlins win 5-1, they're now 8-3. Also on Thursday night, the Lady Dolphins beat Rutherford 3-0 and the Marianna boys beat Bozeman 3-2.
