Lady Marlins Struggle in Christmas Classic Opener

Panama City Beach, FL --- Friday marked the first day of games at the 9th annual Marlin Christmas Classic.

Head coach Natalie Vogler and her Lady Marlins were paired off against a tough Marshall County team from Kentucky. And those Kentucky girls can ball.

In the highlights attached above, Bailey Greer comes up with the steal and the score in the first to put the Lady Marshalls up 16.

With time running out in the quarter, Arnold trying to get up a last second shot, Destini Washington gets the basket to fall, but it's after the clock ran out so it's no good.

2nd quarter, it's all Marshall County. Greer pushes to Michela Manley for the lay in.

The Lady Marlins trailed 40-2 at the half, and lose 59-10. That sets a record for lowest scoring output in the tourney's nine year history. The previous mark was 21 points by Crystal River in 2012.

The Lady Marlins play at 10 AM Saturday against Pensacola, who against Mosley Friday, set the new record for most points scored in a single Christmas Classic game with 70.
