Panama City Beach, FL--- It's tournament time for area girl's soccer teams. Several them in action Tuesday evening in their respective tourney semifinals.
For Rutherford and Arnold that meant going head to head in their 3-A two tournament semifinal.
The Lady Marlins scored early, some ten minutes into the match on a goal by Kelli Crowley. Neither team able to find the net the rest of the firs half, so the Lady Marlins took that lead into the break.
In the second half, with the wind at their backs, the Lady Marlins rallied big time with four goals, including a penalty kick by Crowley that made it 2-0.
Danielle Alvey, Brooke Jaworski and Jacyln Lehtio all adding additional goals, so it ended 5-0.
Arnold moves into the district title match Friday against Choctaw which beat Milton 1-0 Tuesday night, that tournament title match at Choctaw set for 7.
The attached video shows the following:
Arnold in white and on the early attack, nice header by Jaclyn Lehtio just misses the mark.
A short time after that, off the corner kick, Autumn Jaworski gets a foot on it, deflecting it to Kelli Crowley who lunges forward and gets the back of the net with her shot.
The Lady Rams, with the wind at their backs, spent much of the rest of the first half on the offensive, but one shot after another would just miss, or was denied by Arnold keeper Alexis Tanner.
