Niceville, FL---We are now just a couple of days away from the start of the state juco basketball tournament, with the best 8 women's teams in the state, and the best 8 men's teams all converging in Marianna this week.

The ladies play their quarterfinals first, on Wednesday. One of the three area squads playing up there the Lady Raiders of Northwest Florida.

Coach Patrick Harrington' team 24-3 overall, 9-3 in conference tied with Gulf Coast atop the standings.

Gulf Coast winning the conference by winning two of three head to head games. Still an impressive resume for the Lady Raiders heading to state!

"Well I thought that our ladies did a good job consistently through the entire season from start to finish, with their effort and their energy. We've got a very balanced team and we've got an opportunity with a lot of different pieces that can hurt you on any given night."

That Northwest game against Palm Beach set for 8 Wednesday. Gulf Coast faces Santa Fe at 3, Chipola takes on Jacksonville at 6.
