Miami, FL --- 2013 has been one incredible year for Miami Heat star LeBron James.

It's brought him ninth straight All Star appearance, his forth NBA Most Valuable Player award in five years, and his second straight NBA title and NBA Finals MVP.

Well believe it or not, King James added another accolade to his career resume Thursday, becoming only the third basketball player ever to be named the Associated Press' Male Athlete of the Year.

James joins Larry Bird and Michael Jordan as the other NBA players to take the prestigious honor, after beating out Peyton Manning and Jimmie Johnson who finished second and third.
