Liberty preps for a trip west to take on Freeport in round one of the state playoffs.

Bristol, FL--We begin on the high school football front and with a look ahead to a terrific first round playoff matchup between a pair of area 1-A teams, Liberty and Freeport. Let's focus on the former here at 6, the Liberty Bulldogs. They take a 9-1 record into the postseason, the only blemish a loss a couple of weeks ago to eventual district two champ Blountstown. Coach Grantham's guys rebounded nicely from that one point loss and beat Cottondale last week 42-0, so safe to say the Bulldogs are going into the region quarters with the right frame of mind.

Grant Grantham
Liberty Head Coach

"Yeah well Scott, I think our guys are prepared mentally for this opportunity. We got to advance to the second round last year and I think they're looking forward to the chance to win ten games. And you know move on in the playoffs. Sometimes kids start dreading this time of year and it didn't look like we are. Our kids seem focused to keep moving on."

The Bulldogs have certainly been putting up the points lately, they've scored 40 plus in their last five games, the 20-19 loss to Blountstown the exception. That game at Freeport Friday, 7:30 central, we'll hear from the Freeport camp Wednesday night.
