Local Results of Girls Weightlifting State Finals

Kissemmee, FL--- Girls weightlifters from all over the state of Florida converged on the Kissemmee Civic Center for the 2013-2014 State Finals.

With a field packed full of local competitors, three girls were able to place in their respective weight classes.

Choctaw saw two girls place in competition, as Caitlyn Brandenburg finished in 4th place in the 169 pound weight class. She was joined in the ranks with her teammate, Kiera Alexander, who placed 2nd in the 183 pound competition.

Okaloosa county was also represented by Niceville's Taylor Waters, who came in 6th in the 183 pound ranks.

As for seventh grader Michaela Purple from Bozeman, who NewsChannel 7 Sports profiled on Friday, in her first trip to State, she finished in 29th in the 101 pound weight class.
