Local Sports Preview, Week of January 27th

With the new week ahead of us, it's time to take a look at the biggest stories and events going down this week in local sports, as high school athletes are fighting for state and district glory all across the landscape.

In boy's and girl's soccer, the action on the pitch will be electric. The Mosley Lady Dolphins are the lone local team left standing in the regional semis. They'll play at West Florida Tuesday at 7.

While for the boy's, in 3A Mosley hosts Gulf Breeze and Choctaw hosts Bay. In 2A, Freeport travels to Wakulla, while Niceville welcomes Lincoln in 4A. Those take place this Thursday at 7.

In district tournaments, local wrestlers will take to the mat for a chance to go to state. In Bay county, Arnold, Bay, Bozeman, and Rutherford will compeete in the 1A District 1 tourney at Wewa. Mosley in 2A District 1 at Choctaw.

Also, girls district hoops tourneys kick off this week. Bay High hosting the 5A District 1 tourney where Choctaw and Mosley have first round byes. We'll keep you posted on all that this week on NewsChannel 7 Sports.
