Sand Hills, FL --- Bozeman is set to introduce it's new head football coach at the school early Friday afternoon. Newschannel 7 Sports has learned the man who will be introduced to the Bucks faithful will be Lyle Messer.
Coach Messer comes east after spending 11 of the last 12 years as an assistant coach at Pine Forest. He's coached on the defensive side of the ball over there, including guiding the likes of Lucheiz Purifoy, the UF standout corner who's likely to be a first round pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Coach Messer is a 1997 graduate of Holmes High School, where he played football.
He got his degree from the University of West Florida.
He'll take over for Loren Tillman, who was the only head football coach Bozeman's ever had, guiding the program since it's inception, and leading 9 varsity teams there.
Tillman resigned in December, eventually taking the head coaching job at Wewahitchka High School.
Coach Messer also spent one year as a varsity basketball coach at his alma mater, Holmes, that was in 2005.
He'll be officially introduced at the school at 2:30 Friday afternoon!
