Malone, FL--Talk about your great story lines going into a high school basketball game. 22-5 Chipley at 24-2 Malone Tuesday night, serious talent on the floor, well coached, schools close to each other.
And oh yeah, there wass the revenge factor, Chipley winning a round two playoff game last year at Malone, on the way to the state championship. Tuesday night, they met in a first round, or region semifinal game. Again in Malone's gym!
The Tigers able to build a one point lead by halftime, 26-25. And from there they were able to hold off all serious Chipley rallies, Malone getting an 11 point win 61-50. Chai Baker leading Malone with 27, Ty Baker chips in with 17. Chipley's Trent Forrest leads all scorers with 32 in the losing effort. Chipley's season ends 22-6. Malone, now 25-2, moves on to the region finals Saturday at Holmes, which beat Paxton Tuesday 72-51.

Pick this one up in the third quarter, Malone with the one point halftime lead, make it a 4 point lead, Anthony Speights gets the steal, drives it down, bucket and one.
Chipley answers with their start Trent Forrest just inside the arc, long jumper falls.
Back to Speights, passing it inside to Austin Williams who lays it in.
Chipley trying to answer, they get the rebound goes to Kobe Mcrary, who goes for the layup, but he gets pushed by Williams, and slams into the wall and the floor, knocked him out of the game.
No technical, just the foul. Back to the other end, Chai Baker misses and his brother Ty there to clean it up.
Then it's Chai with the long three pointer. Malone goes on to win 61-50, Chai Baker with 27, Forest with 32 in the losing effort.
