Panama City, FL--Many local high school football fans, especially Bay boosters are wondering what will be the next move for the Bay football program. As we told you late last week, Bay principal Billy May offered the job to Pensacola assistant coach Dale Brewer who first accepted Thursday, then Sunday, called back to turn down the job.
So May telling me by phone Monday night after consulting with his search committe, he's decided to re-advertise the job, though that doesn't mean they can't go back and offer the job to one of the other four finalists that came in last week for face to face interviews.
He says one committee member did want to offer the job to the person who was second on their list but the others wanted to take more time and go through the candidates again. Mr. May says they're hoping to have some decisions as to how to move forward by Thursday, with no exact timetable on hiring a new coach. In the meantime assistant coaches Tay Cody and Conrad Moon are overseeing Bay's Summer workout program.
