Marianna Now Area's Only Undefeated Football Team

Marianna, FL--Our area boasts just one remaining undefeated high school football team and that team is the Marianna Bulldogs.

With first year coach Tim Cokely running theshow, those Bulldogs,
coming off a comeback win over FAMU, now find themselves five and oh, and getting set to head into all important district play Friday against East Gadsden.

Even though only the district record counts in terms of making the playoffs, coach Cokely and his guys certainly not unhappy about being unbeaten to this point!

"Well it's better than defeated." says the coach. "I think winning breeds winning. I think losing breeds losing. So we want to create a culture of winning around here. That doesn't mean win at all costs. But really there's not a substitute for winning. That's why we do this. That's why we coach, and our guys are excited. We think that our community kind of gets some of it's spirit from what we do on the field and we take that seriously you know and really it allows us to play with some inspiration, so it's been fun."

Coach hoping the fun continues at home Friday when they host 4-1 East Gadsden, the 4A district 1 opener for both teams. That game one of several we'll feature Friday on Friday Night Overtime starting at 10:15.
