Marianna, FL---It's safe to say the Marianna Bulldogs are anxious to get back on the football field after suffering their first loss of the season last week.
The now 5-1 Bulldogs host the 1-A Blountstown Tigers who will take their 4-1 record on the road to Marianna Friday. This game our Southern Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week.
Marianna's lone loss coming just this past Friday, a district loss no less to East Gadsden, today I asked coach Cokely how his guys are dealing with that setback.
"We practiced well, that's all we know how to do, is go back to work. The guys have done what we've asked them to do, it's been a good week of practice. It's always the longest time, the longest span between a loss and your next game so time has gone by kind of slow, but we're excited the game's almost here."
As for getting a rebound win tomorrow night against the Tigers, well coach Cokely knows that won't come easily.
"It's the best team they've had in awhile, certainly being 4-1, with just the one loss it's gonna be a real challenge for our guys. They're a good defensive team, very sound and then of course explosive on offense with all that talent. But it seems like every week we've played pretty good teams so our guys are ready and they've prepared well."
Game time in Marianna set for 7, that game will be one of several we feature tomorrow night on Friday Night Overtime starting at 10:15.
