Marlins Get Extra Inning Win over Bozeman

Panama City Beach, FL---The Bucks and Marlins played 7 scoreless innings, and they both then scored in the 8th, with Arnold getting 2 to win it.

Arnold's Justin Bynum and Bozeman's Brandon Suttles both pitching scoreless ball through five, both having to work out of some early jams. Sean Reichart took over for Bynum and pitched a scoreless 6th and 7th, and only gave up a run when a ball was dropped in right field.

Garrett Hall who came on and pitched a scoreless 7th for the Bucks gave up two runs after yielding two singles to start the 8th. The Bucks then failed to field consecutive bunts, and the Marlins scored a run on each, winning the game 2-1.

The Marlins now set their sights on hosting the 5A-1 district tournament, and taking on Bay in the play-in game Monday night. The Bucks host Rutherford Friday, before heading into their district tournament at Liberty early next week. The Bucks are the top seed in 1A district 4.

The attached video shows the following:

Pick it up in the bottom of the first, home team gets runners to second and third with one out, but Brandon Suttles gets back to back strikeouts...looking.

Justin Bynum matching Suttles with shutout baseball, getting some help from his friends, chopper towards short, Braden Burns fields it and fires for the out in the 4th.

Still scoreless bottom of the 5th, Marlins with a runner at third, Reichart bounces to third, Michael Cullen runs down Burns.

Top 6, Bucks with a runner on, but he's erased when Connor Montfort picks him off, one of two pickoffs for the Arnold catcher tonight.

Still scoreless, bottom 7, Marlins load up the bases against Garrett Hall, but he gets another called third strike to end that threat. They go to extras.

Top 8, runners at first and second one out for Bubba Thompson, he skies one down the line, Ray Peed can't haul it in, Cole Barfield scores to make it 1-0....but the Marlins would score twice in the bottom half on consecutive bunts to win the game 2-1 in 8 innings.
