Marlins Take Shot at Knocking off West Florida

Panama City Beach, FL--Simply put the season for the Arnold Marlins comes down to Friday night's home game against West Florida.

West Florida is the undefeated team that sits atop 5A district 1. This game our Southern Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week.

The Marlins are 1-1 in district, and if they lose, well they're all but out of playoff contention. A win however puts them right in the thick of the race for the district title.

Arnold head coach James Hale knows a win won't come easily as the Marlins have their hands full trying to slow down a hot Jag's offense, in particular wideout Lawrence Lee who gave the Rams fits last week.

"They've got division one players, the receiver's the best I've seen period. We knew he was going to be a great player, because he was a great player as a sophomore. And we really don't have many people we can match up with him. So that's a challenge right there. Offensively they haven't been stopped, they're averaging almost 40 points a game. Their defense is big and fast and strong. They have skill players all over the field. We've just got to play a complete game. I told the kids, nobody expects us to stay on the field with them. This is a great opportunity to go out and do something special and we haven't really done that all year.

Last year Arnold beat then undefeated West Florida over there, so coach Hale hoping history repeats itself. That game a 7 o'clock start Friday night.
