McCann to Replace Injured Freeman In All-Star Game

ATLANTA-- Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman has a thumb injury that is preventing him from playing against Cincinnati today and leaves him out of the All-Star game.

Freeman made the All-Star roster by finishing ahead of Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig (PWEEG) on the fan vote.

Freeman says he jammed his left thumb on the first play of Saturday night's 5-2 win over the Reds. He's wearing a soft splint on his hand.
