Sand Hills, FL---Those devoted to Bozeman High School football now know a little something more about their next head coach, in fact just the second head coach in Bucks history.
As we told you he would be last night, Lyle Messer introduced as the successor to Loren Tillman this afternoon at the school.
Coach Messer's a Holmes and University of West Florida alum who comes east after spending 11 of the last dozen years as an assistant at Pine Forest. This is his first head coaching gig, and he's thrilled to be taking the reigns!
When speaking at his introductory press conference, Messer stated that he's excited to coach players and a program that will do what it takes to reach success. "Well obviously there's not a lot that needs to be changed. I mean as far as a work ethic. I mean I'm seeing kids in the weight room today busting their butts when there's no coach around. That's rare. So obviously the kids don't have to be told what to do. They're doing it, they've been brought up, the work ethic's there. But we've got to get outside. We've got to get faster, I realize this. We've got to get faster, and I've got a background in that, so I'm excited about getting these guys outside and getting faster to where we can compete with some of the schools that possess a little more of the skill players that we do."
