Mosley, Arnold Fall in District Tourney at Bay Tuesday

Panama City, FL---Gulf Breeze and Choctaw. are the two boy's basketball teams advancing after the first night of play in the 5A-1 district tournament at the Cobb Gym at Bay Tuesday night.

Gulf Breeze beating Mosley handily in the first of the play-in games, 54-48. That sends those Dolphins into the Friday semifinal against top seed Rutherford.

Choctaw. meanwhile getting a very tough game out of 5th seed Arnold. In fact the Marlins had a 9 point halftime lead, 31-22. The Marlins extended that lead to 14 in the second half, only to see the Indians rally to win by two, 54-52. So it's Choctaw. advancing to the semifinals Friday against the 2 seed Bay.

The attached video shows the following from the Arnold-Choctaw. game.

-Indians in the home white as the higher seed, and going outside early on, in the corner, #4 is Laylen Nelson, three pointer falls.

-Back come the Marlins, double zero feeling the outside shot, Cody Harris from one side of the wing for three.

-Cody Harris from the other side of the wing for three more.

-Back to the other end, off the inbounds, Kalin Lovett dribbles once, spots up and connects.

-Follow that up with the sweet baseline drive by Arnold's Juwan White, the revers goes. Arnold led it by 9 at the half 31-22, built the lead to as many as 14 but the Indians rally in the second ¤
¶half to come back and win it 54-52.

-So it's Choctaw moving on to face two seed Bay in the second semifinal Friday night at 7.
