Mosley Clinches State Spot, Headed to District Final After Stomping Bay

Panama City, FL---Rivals took to Weeks Field for the District 5A-1 semifinal as Bay and Mosley playing in front of a huge crowd.

Those fans are in for a show from the top-seeded Dolphins.

Mosley had the bats on fire early, batting around in the first inning as Bay sent three different pitchers to the mound just to get the first three outs. The 'Fins put up seven runs in the frame, including two that came off a Sean Maddux home run.

The green and orange gave plenty of support to their pitcher, starter Andrew Deramo, who shut down Bay as he worked the hill. The future Northwest Florida Raider threw four innings of shutout ball, surrendering only two hits and racking up five strikeouts.

The top-seed would add two more runs in the third to take a 9-0 lead. Bay would score two of their own, but couldn't muster any other offense.

Mosley goes on to win 9-2, earning their way into the State Championships and a spot in the 5A-1 district final. They'll face Rutherford, who defeated Choctaw earlier Tuesday 10-4. First pitch at Bay High is set for 7 PM Thursday.

In the highlights attached above, action picks up in the 1st inning, two on, as Clay Causey singles to right-center. Brady Bell comes home as Mosley leads 1-0.

It was 2-0 after a thrown away pickoff attempt, as Brendan Fox gonna drive Causey in on a deep double the goes to the wall. It's now 3-0 green and orange.

Bay makes a pitching change, but Mosley get's the same result. With an exclamation point. Sean Maddux unloads a homer to deep left.

Dolphins bat around in the first, score 7, as Bay uses three pitchers.

Mosley was carried by their one, Andrew Deramo. He goes four innings, five strikeouts, only two hits allowed.

The 'Fins add two in the third and win 9-2.

They're state bound and will play for the district title Thursday at 7 PM.
