Pensacola, FL---The Mosley girl's soccer team is looking ahead to another state playoff match, thanks to a 4-1 win over West Florida Friday night in Pensacola.
The Lady Dolphins scored first, on a nice crossing pass and goal by Elizabeth Vickers around the 10 minute mark.
Gulf Breeze tied it with a goal off a corner kick a few minutes later, only to see Mosley retake the lead with another Vickers goal, also off a corner kick, and a ricochet, at the 30 minute mark.
Kaylin Thomas makes it 3-0 with a goal off another corner kick, and Thomas would close out the scoring with the lone goal of the second half. Mosley wins 4-1, advancing again to the state region finals.
The Lady Dolphins will host Ponte Vedra Monday night at 5 o'clock at the Gavlak Sports Complex on the Arnold campus. Mosley using that field because the playing surface is preferable to the turf at Tommy Oliver.
The attached video shows the following:
Mosley grabs the lead ten minutes into the match, Liz Vickers with the feed in front, gets the left foot on it and beats the goalie.
West Florida ties it up a few minutes later, but Mosley goes back in front at the 30 minute mark, off the corner, Vickers goes after the ricochet and knocks it home, it's 2-1.
And before the half ends, it's Kaylin Thomas with the shot off the corner from the far side, behind the screen there, #16 makes it 3-1.
¶ The Lady Dolphins add another in the second half win 4-1, and move on to face Ponte Vedra in the region final 5 o'clock Monday night at Gavlak.
