Lynn Haven, FL---7 local high school baseball teams are still working this week and looking ahead to games Tuesday. For area 1A teams it will be their playoff opener as they only play four rounds in the postseason.
For 6A Mosley, it means a second state playoff game. The Dolphins winning their region quarterfinal last Tuesday beating Pace 5-1.
That sends Mosley into a 4th match against Crestview for the right to go to the region finals.
Mosley won the two regular season games, but the Bulldogs won in the district title game, hence they get to host tomorrow night.
No doubt about it, these teams plenty familiar with each other and that's just fine with coach Todd Harless.
"It's a lot better to play somebody you've played more than once. Just for the fact that you're familiar. And you know their coach would say the same thing. But you also know what their weaknesses are too. If we were to play Tate we would have had to get a bunch of information on what their weaknesses may be and what we want to do. We have a great game plan and I'm sure their coach does too. But if we can execute like we did two out of three times then we'll be successful. But definitely playing somebody you're familiar with is what you want to do."
Coach Harless says he's kept practice this past week loose, just keep the guys sharp and plenty of swings. After all, Mosley's undefeated this season when they score 4 or more runs. That game starts at 7 local time Tuesday as do the 1A games, Vernon at Liberty, Bozeman at Sneads and Central at Holmes.
