Lynn Haven, FL---For area high school softball teams in the larger classes, round two of the playoffs comes Tuesday night, weather permitting!
That includes Mosley. The Lady Dolphins, who won the 5A-1 district title a couple of weeks ago, followed that up with a playoff opening win over Suwannee this past Thursday night. Once again Katie Lopes the star tossing the shutout.
That has coach Wilke and company back on the home field Tuesday night and a region semifinal game against Wakulla.
Heading into that one, you certainly won't hear much smack talk coming out of the Lady Dolphins, who, led by a strong senior group, simply do their talking on the field!
"This group is very special." Mosley head coach Brian Wilke tells us. "Like I said I've been through, with this group, the seniors, most of them have played varsity for four years and they've been a great group. Sometimes they're a little quiet, they're always hard working. I wish they would be a little more vocal. But some of them have stepped forward in recent weeks. Really they're confident, they know their abilities. This is the kind of group, they're not real boastful, you have to kind of pry it out of them. But when they show up on the field you can see it."
Before last year, when they won two, Mosley had never won a playoff game. They can tie that mark with a win Tuesday, again if the weather cooperates. If need be they'll push back to later in the week.
