Mosley falls to Wakulla is season opener

PANAMA CITY, Fla- Mosley welcomed in Wakulla for their season opener on Thursday at Tommy Oliver Stadium.

The Dolphins are now part of a stacked 6-A district 2 with Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Choctaw and Niceville. So coach Perry Brown getting his guys ready for a tough district with a tough opening game against Wakulla, a 5-A district 2 team.

Austin James gets the handoff for Mosley and tries to fight for yardage, but a big hit causes the fumble, Deonte Hutchison picks it up and takes it up field...

The War Eagles drive the field from there and get on the board with this Marshane Godbolt TD run on the sweep, and it's 7-0 War Eagles after the PAT.

Mosley eats up the rest of the first quarter and punches in this Zach Rhodes keeper on the first play of the second, extra point ties the game up...

But Wakulla comes right back and answers this time through the air, Caleb Stephens finds Godbolt wide open, and he's a bolt of lightning running pass the defenders for a wide open 78 yard TD score...extra point no good, so it's 13-7 Wakulla at half...

Coach Perry Brown trying to rally the troops in the 3rd quarter, but Wakulla comes right out of the locker room and drives it to the five, and it's Hutchison punching in the TD run, for a 197 score, 2 pointer no good.

Wakulla goes on to add another touchdown and field goal and take the win by a score of 31-14. Mosley drops to 0-1, War Eagles 1-0.

The Dolphins have next week off, and in two weeks, take on Bay County rival Arnold.
