Mosley football coach Perry Brown talks about working through the first two weeks of practice while also working to avoid the heat!

Lynn Haven, FL-- We start today back on the high school football practice field and today it's a trip over to Mosley, where coach Perry Brown and his staff are looking at about 45 players on the varsity level. Ever since Fall practice began the 'fins have been working out exclusively in the morning to avoid the afternoon, and having to stop practice if the heat index rises above 104. Coach Brown says that's been a good plan and the kids have responded to it.

Mosley Head Coach

"We've been having some pretty good practices Scott. Getting up here at six o'clock in the morning, trying to get through 9:30 or ten. It's been a good turnout.

It's still pretty hot out here, especially when we get through that last hour, it gets kind of warm. But you know they're gonna be playing late in the afternoon, late evening so they're gonna have to get used to the heat sooner or later."

Mosley now a part of the new 6-A district two along with Choctaw, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville and Navarre, a very tough district indeed. They'll play a preseason game a week from Friday against Rutherford, then open the regular season September first at home against Wakulla.
