Gainesville, FL--- What a week it's been for new Gators starting quarterback Tyler Murphy. You fill in for the injured starter, Jeff Driskel, lead your team to victory over rival, Tennessee, and are all the talk of the town. Oh, but wait. Now you have to go out and perform again, in your first career start, on the road in s-SEC play against Kentucky.
Tough job. But while Murphy knows some nerves will be there Saturday, he realizes nothing will be as crazy as last Saturday at the Swamp.
I'll have butterflies, I'm sure. I'll be anxious to get out there and maybe complete my first pass. Once I get hit, i think I'll be fine. But I don't think it'll be as bad as it was this week, no."
With Driskel down for the season with a broken fibula, Head Coach Will Muschamp says the offense shouldn't suffer whatsoever with the new guy under center.
"He's always been a really intelligent guy and a good athlete. We will not change much of who we are offensively. Obviously as I said after the game, they're will be some throws he likes better than Jeff. (I'm) just very proud of him and a guy who's worked through the process of becoming a starter at the University of Florida."
