Gainesville, FL---Call it a big time road test for the Florida Gators. Saturday afternoon. They'll be in Baton Rouge to take on 5-1 and 10th ranked LSU.
Florida heads that way with a 4-1 mark following the home win Saturday over Arkansas. Another big effort for the Gator defense in that one, yielding just one touchdown while producing one itself.
Junior q-b Tyler Murphy turned in another good performance with a couple of td passes to Patton.
So Florida seems in good shape heading west though Will Muschamp says so is LSU, which he says is playing well in all phases, and at one position in particular, quarterback.
"Where they've taken the next step is in the throwing game." Muschamp says. "Zach Mettenberger is playing at a very high level. What strikes you is he's completing 70 percent of his passes but he's so efficient and effective throwing the vertical ball down the field. He's very accurate with the ball down the field and that's the one thing that jumps out at you watching the tape. Two very talented receivers in Landry and Beckham."
Florida heads to Baton Rouge as 7 point underdogs. That game Saturday set for 2:30 central on our sister station WECP.
