Gainesville, FL--The Florida Gators are getting set to host Kentucky Saturday afternoon in the Swamp, which gives Jeff Driskel another chance to endear himself to the Gator Nation.
No doubt Will Muschamp is relatively happy with his decision in terms of naming Driskel his starting qb. a few weeks ago.
Jeff, who quite simply was a deer in the headlights as a freshman last year, really seems to be getting it this season, and is a big reason why Florida's three and oh.
"A lot of the game has slowed down for him," says coach Muschamp "he's able to anticipate things more, he's able to see things more, he understands a little more about coverage concepts. There are so many things in the learning process of being a young player, but even more so at that position, because you've got to understand how the other 10 are working on that side of the ball and also have a great understanding about what's happening on defense. When you're able to start seeing those things, and the game continues to slow down, I think he'll continue to play well, and the thing about Jeff he's gonna work at it."
What helps big time is other players are stepping up to make big plays on both sides of the ball, Burton and McCray in particular.
