Gainesville, FL--The Florida Gators are getting some time off this week and Will Muschamp seems happy about that..
Saturday in the Swamp it really seemed as if Florida took a bit of a step back, in some ways, from the progress it made in Knoxville.
The Gators certainly looked sloppy in getting the shutout win over Kentucky. Still a win is a win, especially in conference, and going into a bye week before preparing for LSU on October 6th, Will Muschamp feels this way with about the season so far!
"Again pleased where we are but also realistic that we have a lot of improvements to make with our football team, our organization. And got some guys that are banged up. This is coming at a good time for us right now, that would probably be questionable if we had to play Saturday. We need to clean up some things in the passing game, timing wise, down the field. As far as route running and things, to continue to throw the ball vertically and convert some third downs. Again we went back and looked before the Kentucky game, it wasn't necessarily a scheme issue, it was more of a timing issue in the throwing game, there are some things we need to clean up."
Muschamp says Jordan Reed, banged up on this play, as well as Trey Burton, Chaz Green and Dominique Easley should all be good for LSU.
He says linebacker Jelani Jenkins, still healing after thumb surgery, will be evaluated later this week.
