Birmingham, AL-- The coaches and players of the SEC are gathering this week to talk about the season ahead. It's what they call SEC Media Days.
Among those in front of the cameras and microphones Wednesday morning, Will Muschamp, the coach at Florida heading into his second season at the helm there. He had this to say in his opening remarks.
"Really excited about August 3rd when we report after a very frustrating, disappointing first year, first campaign there at Florida, certainly didn't meet the expectation level that we expect at Florida on the field. But I do feel like we have built a very solid foundation for where we were headed. We did not get the results we wanted on the field. I feel like in the locker room, the weight room, the attitude of our football team, the discipline of our team, we're headed in the right direction.
Muschamp says heading into fall camp his q-b situation remains a battle between Jacoby Brissett and Jeff Driskell. He's hopeful he'll be able to name a starter before the season begins, but if he has to play two quarterbacks to win games, that's what he'll do. Florida opens at home September 1st against Bowling Green, then it's at Texas A&M in week two.
