Gainesville, FL--We start with college football and the latest concerning Florida's quarterback situation. Coming off the home loss to now second ranked Alabama, the Gators are preparing for just their second road trip of the season, and that just happens to be playing against top ranked LSU in Baton Rouge.
The Gators planning to play that one with one inexperienced quarterback or another, as senior John Brantley is going to miss the game this week because of the injury he suffered on this play late in the second quarter Saturday night.
Florida Head Coach
"John...it's just a lower leg injury and we'll update you guys every Monday. As far as that, Jeff Driskell, Jacoby Brissett and Tyler Murphy will all get reps. We've been pleased with Jeff and his progress and where he is right now at the quarterback position. But all those guys will rep and whoever practices the best will be the guys that will play and give us the best chance for success. (Question) So is Jeff Driskell your starter? (Answers) Right now yeah he'd be our starter."
So a great way for a youngster to get that first start, with a team that just got punched in the face, and has to march into a place called Death Valley, against the top ranked team with a defense on par with 'bama's. That game set for 2:30.
