Gainesville, FL---All the bowl bound football teams are back on their respective practice fields getting set for one final game to cap their 2012 seasons.
That includes the Florida Gators who are now four practices into their preps for the Sugar Bowl against Louisville January 2nd.
The Gators will go nearly 6 weeks in between the win in Tallahassee and the game in New Orleans.
Will Muschamp says he's aware of how easy it is for his guys to lose focus with such a long break between games.
It is, he says, a fine line in terms of keeping the players motivated and fresh. One way he does that is by pointing out what can be accomplished in these workouts beyond just getting ready for Louisville!
"On the practices leading up to the bowl game I told our football team the first day we met and talked about bowl practice the story of Loucheiz Purifoy last year." says coach Muschamp. "Here is a guy who was really only a special teams player who played very little, if any, on defense throughout the season. He came into bowl practice and had an outstanding bowl practice. I do not know if he started the game, but he played a bunch at cornerback in the game and played very well for us. So we've really challenged our younger players."
Purifoy became a starter this fall and was one of the big stars for that Florida defense, as well as coming up with huge plays on special teams.
The Gators remain two touchdown favorites in that Sugar Bowl match up with the 'ville.
