Port St. Joe, FL---Call it a bit of a homecoming in Port St. Joe Friday.
John Palmer, who's going into his second stint as head coach with the Sharks, back at Port St. Joe high school Friday.
Palmer's still employed at Hernando High School in the Tampa area,
Friday his first visit back since his hiring became official.
He met with the kids and the attached pictures show some of that meeting, those pictures courtesy the St. Joe Star.
Coach Palmer told Newschannel 7 Sports by phone Friday his family's thrilled to be reuniting with Port St. Joe and getting back to the kids here.
He says coach Gannon's done an outstanding job of getting St. Joe back on track to it's winning ways, and it's important he work to continue that.
Palmer says the health concerns that forced him from the sideline a couple of years ago are behind him and he has a clean bill of health.
Adding he's excited to start work at St. Joe March 21st, well ahead of the start of spring ball May 1st.
