Niceville Wrestler Still Alive for State Title

Lakeland, FL---The first day of the state wrestling tournament is now in the books. More than 20 wrestlers from schools in our area taking their shots on the mats.

Niceville the best represented area school with 5 wrestlers at state, Arnold with 4.

Bozeman, Crestview, Choctaw. South Walton all with two each, Rutherford Marianna and Mosley with one. Just one area wrestler remains alive in terms of a state championship. That's Niceville's Taylor Bartelson who won his first two matches in his 160 weight class, so he's into the state semifinals tomorrow.

Four other area wrestlers ending the day 2-1 in their matches, so they're fighting for third place at best Saturday.

Mosley's Forrest Lang in 152, and in the 1A class, two Arnold wrestlers, Carland and Ryan and Combs of Marianna still competing for third as well. Here are those results below:
