No-Hitter Helps Liberty Claim District Title

Sand Hills, FL-- The Liberty Bulldogs claimed the 1A district championship Thursday night with a 2-0 win over Bozeman. Liberty starter Jo Jo Durden tossing a no hitter to lead his team to that title.

The game a good pitchers duel the entire way. Bucks starter Matt Hall matching Durden with zero's on the scoreboard through the first five inning.

In the 6th though Hall ran into some trouble when Liberty got a leadoff single, a bunt single, and the a sacrifice fly to put runners at first and third with one out for Ethan Foran who singled up the middle on a 3-2 pitch, that plating Daniel Deason with the game's first run.
Hayden Swier then drove home another with with a sacrifice fly to center, making it 2-0.

Durden meanwhile would finish out the game without giving up a hit, ending it with his 5th strikeout. So Liberty takes the title, in no-hit fashion, they are the champs of 1A-4, you know it was a fun bus ride back to Bristol!
