Port St. Joe, FL---The Port St. Joe Sharks are among the area teams heading towards the final week of spring ball.
The Sharks once again under the guidance of John Palmer who led the program for 7 years between 2001 and 2008, his team won a state title in 2005.
Palmer came back after leaving Hernando with some health issues. He says he's fine now and steps back in for Chuck Gannon who led the team for the last two seasons. Gannon stepping aside and will again be defensive coordinator after an 8-3 season last year.
"There's been a great tone set the last couple of years with coach Gannon and his staff." coach Palmer tells us. "And that's paying dividends for the team in the past. And it's a very smooth process coming in to a program that's already very well established and up and running."
As for what he's trying to get accomplished in 20 spring workouts, well Palmer's keeping it pretty simple.
"Our goals right now is on a daily basis, to get better each day. And we're focusing on that right now. I don't want to set anything too far in the future, which that is. We're gonna take each day one at time, work to get better each day, especially in the spring time. Work on setting season goals once summer begins and so forth and we'll go from there."
St. Joe set to host a spring game Friday night against Wewahitchka, 7 eastern time.
