Only a few weeks of action remain out on the diamond for Panhandle baseball and softball teams.
For the men, the race for first place is as close as it can get.
For the women, the race already has it's winner lounging at the finish line.
Following their 5-3 victory in Marianna on Friday, Gulf Coast baseball broke a tie on top of the standings with Chipola, taking a late lead in the final stretch of the season.
Chipola baseball's 5-2 win at Tallahassee brings them within a half game of first place. They'll continue that series when they host the Eagles Monday at 5 PM.
With three weeks remaining, here's the full baseball standings as of April 13th:

In softball, Tallahassee's win in game two of Saturday's doubleheader with Gulf Coast clinched their first conference championship since 1998.

Along with TCC, Northwest Florida and Chipola have both clinched postseason births in the state tournament.
The Panhandle get's four teams in the postseason. The final spot will either go to Gulf Coast or Pensacola. The Lady Commodores hold a two game lead in the loss column.
