Naples, FL---The Panama City Beach Pirates are left feeling bittersweet about their season after Friday night saw their playoff hopes sail off for a burial at sea.
Needing to win out their last three games to even maybe return to the postseason for a second straight year, PCB dropped to Southwest Florida on the road last night 3-1.
The loss keeps the Pirates in fourth place, while their opponent last night clinches a playoff birth, keeping hold of second place. First place Ocala is the other of the two squads to earn playoff bids, but Panama City Beach still has two games left on the season.
The first is Sunday's final road match at Floridians F.C., followed by their home and season finale against Mississippi a week from now at Gavlak Stadium.
