Pirates Set for Key Road Trip

Panama City Beach, FL---It is a particularly big road trip ahead for the Panama City Beach Pirates.

Coach Greg Devito and his guys getting in a bit of a wet workout Friday. Saturday morning they'll hop on the bus an d head to south Florida for a match Sunday against Fort Lauderdale.

They'll follow that up with a trip over to Fort Myers and a Tuesday match with Southwest Florida.

The Pirates head into these two matches tied for first place in the Southeast Division. Both PCB and the Ocala Stampede are 7-2 after 9 matches and both have 21 points. That's 2 points ahead of third place Orlando City. Remember only the top two teams in each division advance to the playoffs.

Pirates head coach Greg Devito telling me this afternoon it's important his guys stay focused on just the next match, not get too ahead of themselves. That should allow them to put in the most effective performance and give them the best chance for the playoffs.

He adds the trait that's taken them to that first place tie...professionalism. He says his guys put in their best in every workout, and they've prepared well. He says the mentality of the team has been extraordinary which has leads to success.
