Panama City Beach, FL--The Arnold baseball diamond Tuesday hosting an East-West baseball game, giving area high school seniors one last chance to shine, and impress.
It was a rocky appearance for Walton pitcher Brendan Leach, who uncorked a couple of wild pitches with men on third in the top of the 3rd. His catcher also let another run score on a passed ball in that inning, giving the East squad a 4-0 lead.
In the next inning, Rutherford's Brady Colburn with men at second and third, singled to center, St. Joe's CJ Butts scores easily from third, but Choctaw's Miguel Polino in center gunned down Wewa's Justin Flowers at the plate, a perfect throw from the outfield.
In the bottom of the 4th the West got on the board, Tate's Mac Seibert singles to left knocking in Laurel Hill's Kyle Slingerland.
The West gets two more in that inning, but KJ Herron saves at least one run with an impressive diving catch in left, robbing South
¶Walton's Tyler Townson.
The West would rally and in fact comes back to tie the game into the 9th. Neither team able to score in that 9th inning, so they actually flipped a coin to determine a winner, the East winning that coin flip and technically getting the victory. The Rams Brady Colburn who pitched a scoreless inning and drove in a run voted the game's MVP.
