Florham Park, NJ---Port St. Joe's own Calvin Pryor is at the very beginning of his NFL career.

Just a month and a half ago, his journey officially began when he was picked in the first round by the New York Jets. Now, Pryor's been working with Gang Green in their off-season training program, as their mandatory three day minicamp wraps Thursday.

Pryor's impressed head coach Rex Ryan, who's already called the former Shark star someone who they expect to contribute in a big way.

As for Calvin himself, how does he feel his start to his NFL career's been?

"It's been pretty smooth," said Pryor. "It's been a real smooth transaction. They accepted me with open arms. I just look forward to the season, trying to get better every day, and just trying to become a team player. Just trying to take it one day at a time. Interact with my teammates. Just do what I do. Focus on the game of football and just try to play at a high level."

Next step for Calvin and the Jets is training camp, which opens in late July.
