New York, NY---Port St. Joe alum Calvin Pryor probably went out for a rather nice dinner somewhere in the Big Apple Monday night.
That's because the first round pick out of Louisville has signed his rookie contract with the New York Jets, the team that made him the 18th overall pick.
Pryor signing that deal Monday, which is said to be the standard four-year deal under the NFL's rookie cap. It means he'll get roughly $8.6 million over the next four years.
However a huge chunk of that, more than half in fact, comes up front in the form, reportedly, of a nearly $4.5 signing bonus.
Football is tough work, that demands great talent and great risk, but it certainly pays well doesn't it.
Calvin sitting out the last couple of Jets organized team activities after needing a wisdom tooth extracted. He is expected back to work in some of this week's ota's.
