Panama City Beach, FL---Those of us who enjoy watching future PGA Tour players work their way through Q-School via the Hombre Golf Club in PC-B, will have to wait at least another year to see that happen again.
The PGA is moving the second stage Tour Qualifier which has been held at the Hombre dating back to 1991.
The Tour moving the event west to Shell Landing in the Biloxi area, though it's likely this will be just a one year thing.
Hombre General Manager Craig Hanlin telling Newschannel 7 Sports "The inordinate amount of rainfall the Hombre sustained in July and August caused weak turf conditions in a few of our green complexes."
Hanlin goes on to say "We're continuously applying nutrient packages and fully expect to have them back to PGA Tour standards very soon. Moving the Q-School this year provides the Hombre with the time needed for us to over seed our greens to prepare for the winter months ahead, thereby protecting the bermuda grass during it's dormancy period. The Tour has already begun working with us to secure next year's event."
Qualifying School is the process by which players secure their tour card, or playing privileges on the PGA and Buy-Dot-Com Tours.
