Raiders Hand Chipola It's First Loss

Niceville, FL---Call it an early season Panhandle showdown in Niceville Wednesday night, and it was the Raiders coming away with the win in this big battle, 80-65.

Coming in, it was 18-0 Chipola, ranked first in the nation, at 15-1 Northwest Florida, the 7th ranked team in the land. Both opening league play Saturday with wins so this match up
for the early conference lead.

The Raiders began the game with an early spurt, in fact a 14-2 run. Chipola eventually began to crack the code of the Northwest defense to get back in it, in fact eventually pulling to within 4.

The Raiders though not faltering in the second half, and pulling away for the 15 point victory. So they move to 16-1 overall, 2-0 in conference play, and now are atop the standings. The Indians taste defeat for the first time and are 18-1, 1-1.

Good start for the home team, led by their star guard Chris Jones, three pointer at the top of the key to get things going.

Then it's Michael Chandler with the alley oop pass to big Elgin Cook, it's 14-2 run to start for the Raiders.

Chipola eventually gets untracked against a ferocious Raiders defense, first it's Morris driving then dishing to Bowers.

A bit later back inside to Earl Watson.

The Raiders though not to be denied though, back to Jones in the corner for three more.
