Niceville, FL---Anyone who watched men's basketball in the Panhandle Conference the last two years knows how good a player Chris Jones is.
Now the Northwest Florida sophomore standout is being recognized as not just the best in the conference, or even the state. He's now being called NJCAA Player of the Year, given that award today by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
This caps off a brilliant two year run for Jones in Niceville. He averaged 21 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds a game this season, helping his team to a 30-4 mark, a league title, and eventually a second straight national runner up finish in Kansas. Over his two years, the Raiders an amazing 62-6 overall.
With his two year degree in hand, Chris, easily the most decorated player in Raiders history, now heads to the University of Louisville in Louisville to try and help the Card's defend their national championship.
