Raiders Top Commodores to Move Up in Conference Ranks


Niceville, FL --- In a double dose of hoops action at Northwest Florida, the Gulf Coast Commodores and Northwest Florida Raiders took the court right after each school's women's programs faced off, with both starting the night 1-1 in conference play. The winner of this one would jump into a three way tie for first with Chipola and Pensacola.

Raiders in the home white, jumping out to the early lead, Tevin Glass dribbles in, pulls up for the midrange, that's good.

The Raiders then work it inside to Stephen Hurt, the 7-foot sophomore out of Murphreesboro, Northwest up by 8.

Commodores working to stay in it, push it inside to Basil Deveaux who gets the bucket and one, three point play.

Back to other end, nice feed inside to Michael Chandler out of Indianapolis, he slams it down.

That's followed by a dunk by Dedrick Turner for Gulf Coast, but Raiders building a 19 point lead by the break, they go on to win in impressive fashion 100-76. Glass with 23. Raiders 17-2, 2-1 tied with Chipola and Pensacola in conference play. Gulf Coast is 13-7, 1-2.
