Panama City, FL--- Mother Nature doesn't seem to be in too big a hurry to see the baseball squads of Chipola and Gulf Coast go at it this week.
Those two have three games head to head on the schedule over the next few days, the first of those three set for 5 Wednesday afternoon, but the weather nixed that. So they'll try to go again Thursday, weather permitting.
At any rate, once they do get this series going, G.C. head coach Mike Kandler's hoping his team can develop more consistency in it's play.
"It's kind of been a little bit different every day. For awhile we didn't pitch well. Then we started to pitch well and as of late we didn't hit the ball well. Which for 35 games we ripped the cover off the ball. But right now we're not swinging the bats very well, so hopefully we can correct that going into this Chipola series."
Wednesday's game moved back to 5 o'clock Thursday. If that gets rained out, they'll play Friday at Chipola, Saturday and Sunday at Gulf Coast. Commodores 5-4 in conference, Indians 4-5, so just a game separates them for second place.
