Rain Washes Out Sandestin's Drive, Chip and Putt Qualifier

Destin, FL--- Saturday was set to be a great day for the great outdoors. Tons of local action, tons of excitement, that was all washed away by tons of rain.

Sandestin's Baytowne Raven Practice Facility was all set to host over 160 youth golfers Saturday morning in an opening qualifier for the second annual Drive, Chip and Putt Championship.

But Destin Downpours have put a damper on their day.

Founded by the USGA, PGA, and Masters Tournament, kids as young as seven to as old as 15 compete through qualifiers, looking to reach the finals held next April, the week before the Green Jacket's handed out at famous Augusta National.

Sandestin officials say they're not sure if they'll reschedule or not. If they do, the qualifier will restart up next Saturday, July 26th.
